Amazon CTR Benchmarks by Category (2026)
Median Amazon click-through rate by product category for 2026, from 0.22% in Books to 0.47% in Beauty. Why Amazon CTR is low everywhere and what signals a relevance problem.
TL;DR: The average Amazon CTR in 2026 is about 0.59%, and top sellers push above 1%. By category the median runs from 0.22% in Books to 0.47% in Beauty & Personal Care. CTR is low everywhere on Amazon because many ads share a crowded search page, so judge yours against your category, not against display-ad norms.
CTR (click-through rate) is clicks divided by impressions. On Amazon it is structurally low because search results stack many sponsored and organic listings on one page, so any single ad wins a small slice of clicks. That makes the category benchmark essential: a CTR that looks alarming against display-ad norms is often perfectly normal here.

What the spread tells you
The range is narrow in absolute terms but meaningful in relative terms, more than 2x from Books (0.22%) to Beauty (0.47%):
- Visual categories click more. Beauty, Pet Supplies and Health & Household lead because the main image does heavy lifting: shoppers can judge fit from a thumbnail. Books and Electronics click less because the decision leans on text and specs that a thumbnail cannot convey.
- Below your category median is the warning sign. A CTR roughly under 0.2% to 0.3% in most categories almost always traces to one of three things: weak main image, off-relevance title, or keyword drift showing your ad for the wrong searches.
- CTR and CPC move together. Higher relevance lifts CTR and, over time, tends to lower the price you pay per click, so the image and title fix usually pays back twice.
Judge CTR against your category row, and if you are below it, start with the main image before touching bids.
Use the numbers
To see where your CTR lands for your category, the benchmark comparison tool places it against the median. If low CTR comes from your ad showing for off-target searches, the n-gram analyzer finds the words to negate. For all four metrics together, see the Amazon PPC benchmarks by category overview.
