# WhatsApp: link your phone number to Autron

Link your phone number from Settings › Integrations, then message Autron on WhatsApp with questions and screenshots, and receive routine reports in WhatsApp. Linking codes, photo formats, the 24-hour window and unlinking.

**TL;DR:** In Settings › Integrations, click the WhatsApp row and send the WhatsApp message it prepares from your phone: scan the QR code on a computer, or tap Open WhatsApp on the phone. Autron's WhatsApp number, +1 617 858 8087, then replies to your WhatsApp messages and photos, and routines can deliver their reports to your linked number.

You can message Autron on WhatsApp. Link your phone once from **Settings › Integrations**, then ask questions, send screenshots, and have your routine reports arrive there — the same agent you use in the app.

Autron's WhatsApp number is **+1 617 858 8087**, and it appears in WhatsApp as **Autron**.

## Link your phone

1. In the Autron app, open [Settings › Integrations](https://agent.autron.ai/settings/integrations) and click the **WhatsApp** row. It reads **Not connected**.
2. The **Connect WhatsApp** dialog prepares a message with a one-time code:
   - **On a computer**, scan the QR code with your phone's camera. WhatsApp opens on your phone with the message ready.
   - **On your phone**, tap **Open WhatsApp**.
3. Send the message. Autron replies with a welcome naming the workspace it will answer about, and the row changes to **Connected**, showing the end of your number.
4. Autron also sends its contact card. Save it, so the chat shows as **Autron** instead of a phone number.

If neither way opens WhatsApp, open **Can't scan? Send the message yourself** in the dialog, and send the message shown there to +1 617 858 8087 from the phone you want to link.

> **Note**
>
> The code is valid for **10 minutes** and works once. Whoever sends it first links their phone to your account, so don't share it. If it expires, click **Get a new code**.

Each Autron user links their own phone, and a phone can be linked to one Autron account at a time.

## Using WhatsApp

- **Ask about your account** — spend, sales, campaigns, products — as you would in the app. A long reply is split across several messages.
- **Send photos and screenshots.** JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB, with or without a caption.
- **One chat per conversation.** Your WhatsApp messages form a chat in the app, marked with the WhatsApp icon in your sidebar. After 24 hours without a message, your next one starts a new chat.
- **Carry on in the app.** Reply in the app, in that same chat, and the conversation reaches your phone too: your message appears as _"You, in Autron: …"_, followed by the reply. If you haven't messaged on WhatsApp for 24 hours, WhatsApp allows only a short notice with a **Show me** button; tap it to read the reply.

Autron reacts 👀 when your message arrives, and swaps it for ✅ once it has replied.

Autron answers about the workspace you have open in the app. If you switch workspace there, WhatsApp follows.

If you ask for a change — pause a campaign, adjust a bid — nothing happens without your approval. If the reply shows **Approve** and **Deny** buttons, tap one to decide. If it doesn't, the reply explains what it would do and links you to the app; nothing is left waiting there, so ask for the change in the app and approve it there.

Voice notes, videos, documents and locations aren't supported yet. Autron says so and asks you to type your question or send a screenshot.

> **Note**
>
> Every answer in WhatsApp uses credits; the free quick lookups are only in the app's chat. If your balance runs out, the reply tells you and links you to top up.

## Routine reports in WhatsApp

Once your phone is linked, you can add it to any routine you own:

1. Open the routine and find **Channels**.
2. Click **Add Channel** and choose **WhatsApp** (it shows the end of your number). Before you link a phone, this reads **WhatsApp — connect first**.

If you've messaged Autron in the last 24 hours, the report arrives as a normal message — up to two, with a link to the full run in the app when it's longer. Otherwise WhatsApp allows only a short notice — _"Your scheduled routine … has finished and your report is ready"_ — with a **Show me** button. Tap it and the full report follows.

To ask about a report, reply to that message. Your question goes into that run's conversation, with the report as context.

## Disconnect WhatsApp

In **Settings › Integrations**, click the connected **WhatsApp** row and choose **Disconnect**. Autron stops answering that number, routines stop delivering to it, and anything waiting on your phone is cancelled.

Routines that delivered to WhatsApp then show it as **Disconnected**. If you link a phone again, remove WhatsApp from each routine and add it again to resume reports.

## When linking doesn't work

| **What you see** | **What to do** |
| --- | --- |
| _"That code has expired or was already used"_ | Codes last 10 minutes and work once. Open the dialog again, or click **Get a new code**. |
| _"This number isn't linked to an Autron account yet"_ | You messaged from a phone that isn't linked. Link it from **Settings › Integrations**. This reply is sent at most once a day, so later messages get no answer until you link it. |
| _"This number is already linked to another Autron account"_ | Disconnect it in the other account first, then link it here. |
| _"Your Autron account already has a WhatsApp number linked"_ | Disconnect the current number in **Settings › Integrations**, then link the new one. |
| _"You're sending messages faster than I can answer"_ | Wait a few minutes. A WhatsApp chat takes up to 20 messages an hour. |
| A routine shows WhatsApp as **Disconnected** | Remove WhatsApp from the routine and add it again. |
